Opinion: Did iPadOS kill the Pixel Slate?

Tech fans were disappointed to learn that Google has officially killed off any plans for a successor to the Pixel Slate. While there had been suspicions the decision was made some time ago, it looks like the arrival of iPadOS might have been the final nail in the Pixel Slate's coffin.

No, Pixel Slate was dead on arrival as well as Pixel Book. And it's not even hardware, the software is a killing thing. Nobody wants to use Chrome OS with all these emulations and restrictions. People want native experience and the ability to use wide range of software. Google needs to understand this (Microsoft already did) and ship its hardware with tuned Ubuntu/OpenSuse or forget about producing laptops/tablets.
