Purpose of Upgrade?

Just curious about the purpose of this upgrade - why upgrade an old machine like this if software/games aren't being developed for it anymore, as the old system would run the old software just fine?  Or is new software being developed that can take advantage of the improvements?

New software and games are being made for amiga all the time. The community is stronger than ever. We want to see how much we can push this old beast
