Businessman's Delight? Fujitsu launches a heavily armed machine dubbed Lifebook E754: matte Full HD screen, Haswell quad-core processor, a swift Samsung SSD, and an LTE modem. Good battery runtimes round off the bundle. Our report uncovers whether Fujitsu has designed the ideal business laptop.

Hi, thanks for review.
Question about display.
You say -- Contrast: 1028:1.
http://www.fujitsu.com/ says (from Germany or Ukrainian or UK E754 Data Sheet) -- 300:1.
So, what the true is?

Hi! Thanks for the review. I've got a question.
On top of the article where you have the column with the summary of the specs you say:
Soundcard - Intel Lynx Point PCH - High Definition AudioController
However, the data sheet on Fujitsu's website says:
Audio codec - Realtek ALC 3233
Could you pls clear this up? Here's the link on Fujitsu's data sheet (just for your reference):

Thanks so much

Hi,
nice review!

But you didn't tell us how many cells the Thinkpad T540p had onboard. They come with a 9 cell battery which sticks out at the back of the laptop and is quite heavy and a 6 cell battery.

So, comparing the 9 cell battery of the T540p with the 6 cell of the Lifebook would be unfair. The Lifebook also offers options for the battery as you can replace the optical drive with a 3 cell battery thus giving the Lifebook also 9 cells but not a bulky body.

Considering the higher power consumption of the i7-4700 of the T540p, I#d doubt that their 6 cell battery can outrun the E754 6 cell battery.

Hi all,

is anyone owning this laptop yet?
I am very interested in buying it, especially after reading this review.
I am particularly interested in this specific model: http://globalsp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publications/public/E7540MXEC1DE.pdf

I would be glad to hear any comments or impressions regarding this laptop from somebody that already had the chance to play with it. Criticism is also welcome.
I've read that some users complained about the fan speed and noise. Can anyone confirm these complaints?

Thanks for your help!

I just bought a Fujitsu Lifebook E754 And I'm very, very disappointed with the keyboard. This is in my opinion the worst keyboard I've ever used, and in any case not suitable for serious work (itself the keyboard flexes, the keys is not apprehend when touched ...).

I am very disappointed with this keyboard ! ! ! Shame for Fujitsu !

Mr.Bux

how come it has got 86% rating?
+pro
-looks good
-nice weight, not too heavy
-decent battery runtime
-excellent status leds
-real mechanical switches to turn on/off ECO-mode and WLAN
-screen: is o.k.

-cons
-build quality: so lala, definitely not better than Latitude or Thinkpad t-series
-keyboard: shame on you Fujitsu
-palm rest for left hand gets really, really warm
-the fan is unbelievably annoying and loud and it kicks in pretty regularly even in ECO-mode / read notebookcheck about Lifebook e554 because they have the same fan. to sum it up the cooling system is substandard. (it was a nogo for me so I sold it again)

I use E753 and Thinkpad T550 on daily basis (first is private, the second is provided by my employer). The build quality of Fujitsu is on a par with Thinkpad, E753's keyboard is great, but T550 offers a bit deeper key stroke.

Now, why do I like my E753 more than T550?
1. E753 has a 4 core i7 Processor (vs 2-core ULV in T550)
2. E753 allows you to switch out DVD-writer with a second SSD or Battery (T550 can last longer anyway though)
3. E753 is 300 gramms lighter than T550
4. T550 design is too boring for me,  Fujitsu outperforms Thinkpad in this area by far.

Regarding fan noise: i didn't experience any problems, the fan gets loud only under heavy load
