Garmin's new smartwatch paywall triggers massive backlash

Garmin recently announced the introduction of a new subscription that will lock certain features behind a paywall. Unsurprisingly, smartwatch users aren't happy about this change, as some are complaining about the termination of a previous agreement.

I own a Fenix6 smartwatch.

Within the first 90 days of ownership, I installed free Garmin tools & supporting applications on both a smart phone and PC while enjoying making customized 'watch faces' to use on my Fenix6.

Then after the first 90 days expired ALL the internet data driven variables stopped working, never to function again. (users require a 'premium subscription' for these to work beyond the introduction grace period)

While I still like/enjoy the watch I refuse to fund 'rentalware' of any kind.
