New rumours indicate that Canon will soon launch a new mid-range APS-C EOS R camera to challenge the likes of the Fujifilm X-T50 and X-S20. The new camera will allegedly feature 6K 30 FPS video and an entirely new body design, suggesting that it may not be a replacement for the existing EOS R7 or R10 and instead a retro-inspired camera.

The Canon R50 isn't mentioned here. It's also a APSC camera.

Eh... Nikon tried this as well. The XT series are great looking cameras but what makes Fuji stand out is their color science and in-body film emulation. Companies that copy this feel more like having a camera with Instagram filters applied. It takes a bit more than a retro design to mimic Fuji's success. The lenses are also made of a went that are contrasty. The added DR options adding more details in those shadows give each photo a film look. Everything works together to make Fuji standout.

Many of us tend to lean towards the XH series which is more professional camera with the same film emulations in a modern body. These are as highend as it gets before their medium format. Nikon and Canon need to take notes and not just replicate the classic body design.

I dont know if that's the right audience. Most people who buy retro style cameras buy them because of a trend and not to make pro video productions. I think in that case 4k @120 FPS or 6k is kind of a wasted feature since most of these people probably dont even know what card they need for that. And people who need these features want a pro body and if its only for ergonomics.
