With the tech industry's long march to 64-bit only software, EA announced it will shutter its Origin game manager in April. Instead, users with games purchased from EA will have to use the EA app, which is a 64-bit piece of software.

QuoteWindows Vista was the first version of Microsoft's operating system available with 64-bit support, and it launched in 2006.
Off topic, but geez, Vista is almost 20 years old - we've still not forgotten it's one of those really bad crops of Windows we've been treated to over the years (along with Windows ME and Windows 8.x).

While I'm not a super fan of Windows 11, it's no where near as bad as those versions were back in their day.

There was 64 bit windows XP. But it quickly died, lost popularity to its 32-bit sibling. The 32-bit got Service pack 3 while 64-bit stopped at 2.
