With the ThinkBook 16 G7+, Lenovo is offering an upgraded version of the normal ThinkBook 16 with an AMD Zen 5 processor, significantly improved cooling, a larger battery, and a better 3.2K display with P3 coverage and 165 Hz.

Thank God, finally a high resolution 16" AMD Laptop that does NOT use OLED. Now the only remaining problem is the missing 64GB model. This could be my new baby.
Tbh. I don't get why OLED needs to be everywhere. I mean it's great for games or movies but has pwm and worse battery life and is often too dark for outdoor use. Also I hear that it's pixel arrangement ist often suboptimal for depicting text.
My favourite display of all times is the 3k IPS from Lenovo Yoga slim 7 pro X. It looks great, is fast enough for laptops and does not strain the eyes

All they had to do was give this APU Ryzen 365 and bigger battery from 45WH. And really should have kept the rest the same. Like 1200p resolution, ram slots(2 for up to 96GB ) and 2 SSD slots. Heck in the least should have given the option of having 64GB of soldered ram. I donot understand why everyone is sabotaging this CPU and the laptops. at 32GB ram and high resolution screen they have negated any advantage.

I think like other comments everyone is waiting for laptops with the latest from AMD and they sabotage it by eliminating RAM and Hard Drive upgrade options. We don't want soldered RAM we want to be able to upgrade it ourselves over time and give our laptops more life and it is always in laptops with AMD CPUs which does not happen with Intel laptops what is happening ????
And when will there be a laptop with AMD and LPCAMM2 memory which is becoming a standard in China and in the West very few laptops are being seen with this new LPCAMM2 technology that many people need ?????
I have only seen one laptop with LPCAMM2 and I expected more laptops at this CESS 2025 and I have not seen any if anyone knows of some laptops please indicate it in the comments.

This line was in the heading 'Processor' , before the CPU benchmark charts :
"The Core Ultra 7 155H found in the RedmiBook clearly outperforms the benchmark in terms of multi-core performance."

The only benchmark that shows the redmibook having a higher score was Geekbench 5.5 Multi-Core, by 1% (13276 vs 13115).

What am I missing? Please clarify.

Random thoughts


This is a very impressive laptop that I wish to have (or the smaller version lol). To have something
that good in gaming & performance in general.. just coming from the igpu is quite something, plus the extreme level of cooling blows my mind (No pun intended). A smaller res would yield better battery life but still impressive.

Anyways I had to go down a rabbit hole to find this laptop. I ended up on Lenovo China website.
There is one reviewer (Tech Guy Beau) on Youtube that I found with this laptop, which is the previous gen, which is impressive non the less. He reviews this laptop along with a smaller one at 14.5 inches with resolution of 3072×1920.

For the people that are crying about the upgradeability, I understand (Upgradeable/ maybe repairability) but I want to know what software/ applications you use that would require more RAM.

Upgradeable light powerful laptops to consider: ThinkBook 14 G8 & 16 G8, Schenker vision 16 Pro & the better spec TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 16, XMG EVO 15.. ThinkBook 16P (heavier, I know)

And sure LPCAMM2 would have been nice but as you can see this laptop has been around, maybe for a short period of time, so it would probably be a change too soon (logistics & all). Also I would think the ThinkPad line-up would get it first before the ThinkBook series, maybe in the next iteration.

Lenovo's laptops are all over the place when it comes to name/specifications/models & what region/ country there are available to.
