A couple of synthetic benchmark results of the RTX 5090 have surfaced online. While the flagship Blackwell GPU reportedly outruns the RTX 4090 in ray tracing by a double-digit margin, the pure rasterization performance gain looks comparatively less impressive.

Dude WTF. The 4090 FE (STOCK) does 19000 on TSE and 9950 on SpeedWay. You can't look at the extrme overclocks leaderboard to compare it with a stock 5090.

Exactly!

Anti-propaganda man

50 gen is only good for AI on new titles with frame gen and DLSS. Frame gen is garbage anyway as your mouse/controller inputs are only reflected in the games base fps. a 60 fps game running at fake 120 feels totally different to a true 120 fps game. 50 series has 30% more power draw for 30% more real frames... so buy a higher spec 40 series gpu instead. They will be cheaper.

Wtf

Yea this article needs to use stock non-overclocked 4090 numbers

Vert

The fact that, even overclocked, a 4090 can get fairly close to a stock 5090 is proof enough that the successor isn't much of an upgrade.

The only real improvements come from a software lock (DLSS 4 exclusively on 50 series). There doesn't appear to be any reason why the 40 series couldn't run it too aside from "we can't sell the new cards otherwise".
