Since the last major leak, fans have speculated that the Nintendo Switch 2 could launch with Mario Kart 9 as its flagship title. However, a well-known Nintendo leaker disputes this, suggesting instead that a long-awaited remake of a beloved PlayStation classic could take its place.

No way that the big release for the new system will be a third party title. And the fact that we didn't get a "new" Mario Kart for the Switch... It's time for Mario Kart 9.

"Instead of" is such stupid wording.  Mario Kart, a Nintendo property, is not planned around Final Fantasy, a Square property.  These are completely different companies and completely different genres.  When one comes out has no bearing on ore even relationship with the other.  And clearly Nintendo will launch with their own software, and maybe that could be considered 'instead of' Mario Kart.  There is no outcome where Nintendo launches their successor to the Switch entirely on other companies' games.

What a stupid clickbait title. This says nothing about Mario Kart 9. Gaming journalism is such a joke. But hey here I am at the article so I guess joke's on me.

Mario Kart is overplayed, DS was good because it had Mission Mode, it was no Diddy Kong Racing but it had decent content.

When is Nintendo going to put good effort into their single player mode?

Mario Kart 8 is the new GTA 5, it needs to be resold on a third console generation before they consider giving us 9

No it won't. Why would Nintendo sevre up a remake of one of the worst entrees in another company's best franchise as it's flagship game for a new gen console? Especially when they have to be sitting on several of there own titles that could and should very much be flagship game?

Eh, most game catalogs at a consoles release are fairly pitiful.  You might get 3-4 games out of the 9 that are actually worth playing, but then you need to wait months or longer for something worth playing.

I'll probably just buy a handheld Windows PC with a similar AMD APU.

PCs went obsolete with Win 9x.  WinNT (with accounts, locked files, SaaS, cloud) is Wintel on DT.

You kidding? FF7 remake was remarkable and 9 is such a good story line. I think it is perfect. Mario kart come on now. Yeah later on but the marketing there is perfect. We never got FF7 on switch so here is the chance
