Split space bar keyboards are dumb — until they aren't

Nobody needs two space bars, but that's not the point of a split space bar design. A split space bar can help reduce finger strain and even increase typing speed and accuracy, as long as you put in the effort to make it work for you, and most people simply aren't willing to put that much thought into it.
