Although those over-the-top predictions that mentioned figures well above the $100,000 threshold failed to come to fruition year after year, the world's first cryptocurrency has finally managed to break the $80,000 barrier. Today, Bitcoin's all-time high became $81,054.70, three years after it hit $69,000 for the first time.

"Predictions"... this one is from 2021 (the article is from 2023):
QuoteWood's 2021 $1 million Bitcoin prediction supported by data analysis
Cathie Wood, founder of Ark Investment Management and longtime champion for cryptocurrency, predicted in 2021 that Bitcoin's value would reach $1 million per coin by 2030. She reiterated this prediction in the following months, including purchasing 315,000 shares in Grayscale Bitcoin Trust in November 2022, buying a dip.

Another "prediction"... from 2021 by coinmarketcap.com:
QuoteBut now the analyst believes that Bitcoin is comfortably on track to exceed $100,000 by December 2021 — paving the way for a more concerted push into six figures as the 2020s continue.

It's like with (so-called) financial market experts who see coming the biggest financial market crysis ever ("the big one"), "within ... years", and after they failed "prediction", again: "within ... years". One day they might be right and then they probably will tell you that they have told you so, that that would happen.
