The 2024 Mac mini launched as a more capable mini PC than its predecessor. It also has a tweaked design, making it more compact than the last-gen model. As for the power button, Apple has explained why it's on the bottom.

"Of course, the relocated power button could make things a little tricky when the 2024 Mac mini is mounted on the back of a display or a TV. The vice presidents didn't talk about this, and it's possible that Apple may not factored in this installation case when deciding on the design."

Of course it did, as said it is a feature designed to keep...blah...blah...blah.

If this is the biggest criticism of the Mini it's a testament to their incredible reception. Apple now sells the most affordable high performance PCs and laptops without compromising on build quality and features. But the button you almost never need to use might have been placed in a slightly awkward location (or maybe a location that prevents it from being accidentally pressed?). And if you mount a PC behind a TV any power button is harder to reach.

Notch is such a feature.

The power button serves a different purpose: It keeps Apple fan reviewers saying "The only flaw" so that iSheep pays any amount for upselling, which many reviewers play down or even forgo.

Stop brainwashing us. Some CPU / iGPU benchmark in class wins do not equate "high performance PCs". Some aspects of build quality and some features are not "without compromising" (compromises such as fan instead of silent, or no USB-A).

So it has been USB-C or the new iPhone's Camera Button ... same keep non-apple customers within its race.

A year ago these people at Apple claimed 8gb of RAM was plenty and justified it on a pro laptop. Then a year later we see all Mac's at base start with 16Gb even those models that originally were sold with 8gb. Power button on bottom is about as logical as a charge port on the bottom of a mouse.
