I agree, there are wild expenses for zombifying the population on all platforms. As soon as the circus with the "elections" is over, all PR agencies and mass media will have to tighten their belts.
Any platform where there is forced moderation by the owners is a priori a platform for manipulating public opinion among the least critically thinking part of society. And these are the majority of the population, which even modern history has proven many times.
In the USA, approximately 50-70% of those eligible to vote participate in the "elections" (i.e. more than 70 million Americans eligible to vote ignore the circus with the "elections" in recent decades), the rest either do not care or they understand (a narrow layer) that their vote in the "count" does not matter, but their real attempts to influence others through the media before the "elections" do matter. And the smarter, more flexible this person is, with sufficient resources and the ability to appeal to as large an audience as possible - the higher his real influence on the processes occurring with society or civilization as a whole. And what against this background is his insignificant single vote in the "elections" against millions of votes supposedly equal to him? Nothing, even if he is orders of magnitude smarter than these millions. What is important is systematic and steady influence on others for years, decades, and such that it will prompt others to active effective measures against those against whom or what this person is fighting.
