Griffin Cove and Nova Lake IPC: Intel to follow AMD's lead and trash current E-core design as new P-cores leak

Intel is reportedly preparing a CPU architecture with "Griffin Cove" P-cores to follow 2026's Nova Lake. The architecture, the codename for which is yet to be revealed, could bring a double-digit IPC uplift, do away with the old E-core design, and be based on the Intel 14A-P process node.

It's hard to take in, but there are already 3 disappointing generations of Intel Core 13 and 14 that suffer from high voltages and oxidation, and Core 15 HarrowLake, which is practically the same as Core 14.
AMD will give Intel the final blow with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and its overclocking potential with PBO, almost 40% more performance. This is BRUTALITY.
The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K does not surprise in Cinebench despite the overclock. Its consumption is a concern, and the temperature will be a problem: up to 370W of consumption and 102ºC of temperature, dangerous because it shortens the life of the chip. And for those with AM4 platforms, AMD is not giving up on AM4, two new CPUs are appearing: Ryzen 5 5600T and Ryzen 5 5600XT, extending 7 years of updates, and Intel with ArrowLake will only have 10 months because with NovaLake you will have to change the motherboard, RAM, power supply, driver and a lot of money.

Since Intel is not a monopoly leading PC chips manufacturer and supplier they should give up on their TIC (New chip Gen),TOC(Increase Clock)and Change the socket approach. It was acceptable during their dominance era. Now it is just a nail to their coffin. If they introduced a new socket or keep the current one for 10 years it will bring many of their customers back. I upgraded 2 of my PCs to AMD because of the CPU socket compatibility in the future and a good upgrade path.

They're not exactly trashing e-core. In fact, e-core is the baseline for the unified core. It would be slightly less inaccurate to say they're trashing p-core.
