According to a rumor that has just surfaced, Intel has reportedly canceled a desktop CPU architecture that was rumored to launch late next year. Assuming this to be true, Intel Arrow Lake CPUs will now be the only chips from Team Blue against AMD's offerings till 2026.

Nobody is buying Intel Core 13 and 14 because they burn out or suffer from oxidation and neither is HarrowLake. On the forums people are waiting for the release of AMD 9000x3D hopefully AMD will provide enough processors and increase production with TSMC. Don't be fooled by Intel's Marketing

Nobody is buying Ryzen 9000 either, or Snapdragon X Elite or ps5 pro. Nobody's buying anything these days, times are tough.

Which will be released at atrocious prices because you know AMD, they just love screwing perfect launches. Literally every good chip they ever released didn't fall much in price until 1.5-2 years later. The only people waiting for this chip are the very same people waiting to pay $3k on a RTX 5090.

Which will cost them more, which means consumers will be paying more. As I said earlier AMD loves screwing a perfect launches. Mediatek and Nvidia need to hurry up there's literally no one competing with AMD APU silicon atm.

Frankly I have NO interest in further AMD or Intel purchases as I'm waiting for Nvidia to release a handheld/portable APU that will put them all to shame.

If they cancel Arrow Lake Refresh, all Arrow Lake CPUs for 2 years will only have XE1 integrated graphics ("Arc").

And afterwards Nova Lake CPU will come and get XE3 integrated graphics ("Celestial").

And which CPU gets XE2 integrated graphics ("Battlemage")??? No CPU except Lunar Lake???

It's a bit strange, because Lunar Lake is only a subordinate product line compared to Arrow and Nova Lake. And also strange because they hyped XE2 graphics so much in the past half year. And because XE2 is the one product which is finally able to be competitive with AMD Strix Point.

So Intel is telling us - that for the next 2 years - when you buy an Notebook or Mini PC with Arrow Lake, you still only get XE1 graphics, which are not competitive to current AMD Notebooks or Mini PCs? Right? Right??

I really dislike this argument. As if it matters. Current AMD igpus in today's heavy games are already dropping to like 18 FPS. Yes, Intel's are probably worse and get like 9 fps but it's not like your gonna game on either anyway, so who cares.

AMDs roadmap is equally dismal. Rdna3.5 isn't that big of a leap from rdna3 which wasn't that big of a leap from rdna2, for igpus. Zen 6 apus / rdna5 igpus are still years away.

Also when I think of arrow lake I think if it more of a desktop part. For sure there will be notebooks with it but feel the majority of volume will go to thin and light lunar lake ultrabooks. After all, what's the point of a laptop if the battery life sucks and lunar lake excels in this regard.

AMD also uses absolutely tiny CU igpu's on their desktop line but I've yet to hear cries of foul play from the haters.

Nah, AMD will sell Zen5 for servers. Ryzen continues to sell very well, even if it's the old generation rather than the current one.

Next year MTK will be on the ban list, so don't count on it.

And I really dislike your argument. Because the iGPU matters to anyone who's buying a Mini PC, or Notebook without dGPU, small form factor PCs (like AsRock Deskmini), or Mini ITX builds (like InWin Chopin).

And there's lots of people who are interested in these small devices, and not in fu-cking ugly oversized PC towers anymore, which are absolutely overkill. Even when checking the infamous ETA Prime channel you can see at the amount of subscribers and comments that the interest for such small devices is huge.

For these people it doesn't matter if they can play games at 4K in Ultrahigh resolution, but they still care to have a capable iGPU for casual gaming and video editing. So the iGPU does matter a lot to them.

About "AMDs tiny iGPU" on desktop: apart from their 9000x desktop CPU, which has in fact a very tiny iGPU  they also offer the 8000G desktop series, which is the same big iGPU as the mobile 780m. So of course no one would hate on them.

On Intel's side however, it looks like they have a good iGPU in their hands (XE2), but holding it back for anything except a subordinate product segment (ultra-low-power-laptops), while their main product line (Arrow Lake, which is confirmed to cover all platforms from mobile to desktop) gets an outdated iGPU. For the next 2 years... allegedly... which is odd to say the least.

People who wish to video edit on portable small form factor machines don't use PCs. They use macbooks. The people that need to video edit on windows tend to be on oversized desktops with dGPUs.

I'm not talking about 4k or even 1440p high settings but 1080p low.

Almost forgot about this series considering they didn't update it in 3 years. Shame a 10 year old base PS4 APU still has more raw bandwidth than this thing, which is arguably the single most important metric for measuring igpu performance.
