It was a hot summer—and this was no different in our test lab. New laptop CPUs from AMD and Qualcomm were available for the first time inside laptops and had to face our rigorous tests. We also published an extensive update of our ratings and measurements. As usual, we examined a large number of laptops of all categories and have put together the best representatives of their guild in this article.

Ugh. I hate having to ask this since I'm the guy usually complaining about too much Apple coverage and default rating as "best" when objectively that's almost meaningless...

But no MacBooks at all?

I say it's no longer 2020. Apple has been resting on its laurels for far too long. Sure, the M1 was amazing but it came out in 2020. Intel and especially AMD have both upped their game since.
