Norway, called "The EV capital of the world", is inching closer to its goal of completely phasing out gasoline-powered cars by 2025. Data regarding the total passenger vehicle registrations in the country for July 2024 has surfaced online, revealing that non-plug-ins only made up about 5.7% of the total sales.

So them being forced to do it of course doesn't matter at all.

They all just want it, 100%. Every Norwegian is enjoying 1 hour long charges in winter and limited  and sometimes unpredictable range. Norway will just save the planet alone soon.

Ask your fellow Norwegians, if you have any, what they really think.

Most Norwegians are actually fairly happy with EVs, most charging happens at home and range loss during winter is about same as ICE if you preheat on the charger

Once you go EV, it is hard to go back

Now try crossing a big country with average charging network. Or try commuting in megapolis with several hour long traffic jams in winter.
Pictures of happy families with private housing that drive around in a mild weather are very fun. Reality is different. Many norwegians would switch immediately if regulations were removed.

EV range is just as predictable in winter as an ICE car. I know it is hard to understand for people who never driven an EV and drive an ICE car, but for those who drive EVs it isn't a problem.

Charging networks are a product of supply and demand. More EVs = more chargers. Norway's network didn't appear by magic. It is also why Tesla has a bigger network than the others, cause they had the most EVs

Of course for those who drive a lot at once, PHEVs are an option as well

This is a perfect example of what someone who has never driven an EV would say. Standing for hours in long traffic jams is an ICE car problem, not an EV problem.

The reason is simple, because you have to keep the ICE engine running so you end up suffering from huge idle losses. For EVs, there is no such problem. Your biggest consumption is getting your car up to a certain temperature, which is why in winter you should preheat, especially preheating on the charger is best. Once you have your temperature set, maintaining temperature doesn't use up much energy

Someone even did a test on video where they kept a Model 3 EV with heater on, and it lasted 3 days.



This is the thing, many people get this weird idea that EVs are ICE cars + have extra EV problems. They can't comprehend that sure EVs have some of their problems, but they also don't have many of the problems that ICE cars have.

German car manufacturers are massively cutting back on production of electric cars - as soon as the subsidies disappeared, they stopped buying them - no one needs electric cars that are overpriced in terms of quality and comfort vs. cars that are much higher in class for the same price.

Vice versa, you've never had an EV car. Traffic jam on EV is AC or heater that is running on battery and changing range unpredictably.

Again, you clearly have never tried an EV, nor understand basic physics. Idling an EV in traffic AC or Heater wastes little energy. You most likely seen a video where someone didn't preheat/precool show you how much it is "wasting sitting in traffic". But you don't realize it levels off since you've never even driven one

Again your total nonsense from someone who has never driven and EV and just watches videos

Ask those people who you watch videos from if they precooled/preheated. If your battery is not above 0 in temperature, regenerative braking will not work which is an automatic loss of about ~16% range


Also if their EV uses a heatpump or not as heatpumps are more efficient
