Mate Rimac, the brains behind the Rimac Nevera, has responded to Elon Musk's Roadster acceleration claims with some of his experience from running Tesla's fastest EV competitor, Rimac, as well as the legendary Bugatti. Elon Musk recently claimed the next-generation Tesla Roadster would arrive with 0–60 mph acceleration of under one second.

lmao

technically he hasn't said roadster will be <1 sec, he answered what he was targeting for with the fastest spec.
and then he reposted a series of tweets from 2018 with his ideas on spacex/tesla collab with small rocket thrusters on a car.
and this guy 'debunks' by saying that with thrusters it's possible.
so fair and square.

Fair enough. Maybe that just goes to show that we shouldn't really be trusting him on engineering claims? He also said the Cybertruck would be able to act as a boat and have 500 miles of range, neither of which have come to fruition.

lmao

he said
a) briefly
b) with a mod
cybertruck is good in wade mode, looks waterproof

i don't see any unrealistic claims in turning it into a boat with a mod

Quote from: julian.vdm on March 02, 2024, 20:00:50have 500 miles of range
a) up to 500 miles
b) every company in the world had an occasion when they've announced something and couldn't reach their claim. 470 miles with battery extender is close enough.
