Even users who have no interest in AI applications may well benefit from the current trend because, in order to be able to market a Windows notebook as an "AI PC" in the future, Microsoft will require at least 16 GB of RAM in addition to surprisingly high NPU performance.

This is all funny. For a half-decent neural network that performs useful work for the average person, not a demo network, terabytes of RAM are required.

I already wrote that we are now approximately in the early 90s in terms of RAM requirements. In 7-10 years the minimum will be 1-2TB or even higher.

Who wants to argue?

All modern laptops and PCs will become something like 80s calculators in their capabilities.

Yeah make the minimum requirement 16gb and then fill it with Microsoft bloatwarw. Might as well stick with a stripped down win10 installation and 8gb of ram lmao

I'm not really sure that my grandma wants/needs neural networks to work locally on her laptop.
No need for her to update from 16 GB of RAM to 2 TB of RAM.

This is because you are technically ignorant, like your great-grandmother, who would enthusiastically appreciate voice recognition and real-time translation from language to language, etc., which is in no way possible to achieve quality with a ridiculous 16GB neural network. =)

AI meaning my computer will now harvest even more of my data and Microsoft will train their models to track me and monetize everything I do. Just great.

But you, the people, choose the politicians who allow them to do this, right? So why shed crocodile tears? Protect yourself as best you can on a personal level. What else is left for you against the backdrop of the wild ignorance of the masses, with the connivance of which all this is developing in exactly this way?
