Samsung should increase the years of OS updates from 4 years to 5 years and the security patches to 6 years and make it retroactive to the S23 Series which has an SD8 gen 2 powerful enough to do so, in addition to increasing prestige of Samsung differentiating itself from the rest of the manufacturers.
The public is waiting for the new ONE UI 6.1 layer with Artificial Intelligence and how it will reach the rest of the phones that are already on the market.

Write an email to Samsung regarding your wishes. It's pointless to something like that here. Do you really think that Samsung's people don't have anything better to do than reading comments on this website?
Besides, speak for yourself ("the public").

I have kept phones for 5-6 years and as the phones get better the need to upgrade gets less and less. I would not buy a phone with any less than 4 years of OS and 6 years of security updates.

After getting the S23U, I don't see any reason upgrading for the next two to three years. Looking forward at Samsung to further upgrade the camera system. Slightly bigger sensors, 50/200/50/50 mp in a UW/W/3.5x/10x configuration.

Battery degradation used to be a much bigger issue in the past but in recent years batteries have gotten much better and last a lot longer. Phones too have gotten much better. A flagship from say 4-5 years ago can easily run most apps the typical user uses today extremely well. In the past, a 4-year old phone would be so slow to be almost useless.

As such, longer support periods make more sense. That said, once you do get past 5 or 6 years most people would normally want a new phone anyway. Google's 7 years support is a bit of an overkill. I agree that 5 years system and 6 year security would be a reasonable compromise. Even 4 years system and 6 years security would be ok I think.

The s24 series looks a lot like the s23 series. Not a bad thing. I like the purple but the colors still seem off to me. This year too.

Not sure if they get rid of the 10x zoom if that is a good idea or not? Really like 10x zoom and would have liked a higher resolution 10x optical zoom instead of higher resolution 5x optical zoom. I think this is a big mistake but we will see.

The flat screen on the Ultra is welcome and the 8 gen 3 should be nice but I don't see any reason for s23 ultra owners to upgrade and until we know if the camera system is good I think a lot of people might wait. If there are really good promotions who knows but with the economy and inflation hitting everything I think more people are going to hold on to what they have longer.

Samsung update policy is one of the best and until recently was better than Google. I bet Samsung will probably end up giving 5 years of OS and security updates and maybe extend security updates to 6 years. That would be good enough to compete with Google but still in compliance with Qualcomm. However as it is now Samsung current update policy is good enough to continue buying but I do think they need to extend a little bit longer.

It's actually not Samsung's issue. Qualcomm only supports their mobile chips for 3-4 years.
