Intel's top-spec Meteor Lake processor has once again failed to perform as expected on Geekbench. It fails to keep up with its Core Ultra 7 equivalent and performs worse than its predecessor.

Intel Core Ultra 9 185H was throttling obviously.

Overall the lineup looks like a performance downgrade by a year or two, maybe three if they will appear on sale in mid-2024.

That is if geekbench leaks are true.

I don't think max performance numbers matters for Intel, all that matters is idle/efficiency and iGPU performance

Intel is inconsiderable if you care about battery life or iGPU unless you're going to ~70W+

The real question is what is the power consumption to pull those scores for an H class chip. Maybe the laptops were on battery power and limited to 30-32 W. If so, then competitive to 7840U on Lenovo T14s and HP 845 G10 with 30 W -> 24 W and about 11,000 points according to Notebookcheck's test.

Then again, maybe Intel 4 is Intel 10 Round #1.
