The real game changing feature of the Z8 is the stacked sensor. It's what enables you to shoot action photography in silent mode, which is where the real speed benefits are. It should be compared to the Sony A1 more. The rolling shutter on the A7RV is not slow because of the megapixels, it's the lack of a stacked sensor. This puts the Z8 into an entirely different league. As a Sony A1 user I'm pretty jealous of the Z8's video features, lower price and better rear screen, although there are a couple things the A1 does better it doesn't justify another $2500

The pricing is what makes the A7R V a fitting comparison. And yes you're correct, the stacked sensor is used to mitigate the rolling shutter, (I'll amend the article to clarify), but it's also an issue that's exacerbated by high megapixel count.
