In some regions, Alienwares are still distributed with the old, thick power adapters.

Mash IT continues to clarify:
"You can get the small fan [of m16, probably also m18] off without disassembly but you can't get to all the large fan screws."

I have looked into the m18 manual, which describes disassembly of the small fan and disassembly of the entire cooling board but lacks any description of the disassembly of the large fans, which thus does not appear to be something Dell means the user to do...
