US Energy Department sets US$11 million solid-state EV battery research hub to explore ceramic ions as lithium alternative

The US Department of Energy has found the University of Michigan's ceramic ion conductivity breakthrough so promising, that it fronted it with nearly $11 million for a new research hub. There, the four-year grant will be used to develop solid-state EV batteries using ceramic instead of lithium ions.
