If you want to maximize performance while minimizing the damage done to your wallet, then the new IdeaPad Flex 5i 14 may be worthwhile. Its 12th gen Core i5 CPU runs faster than most 11th gen Core i7 options while costing hundreds of dollars less.

Not at all. Remember this is a budget laptop, even cheaper than some Chromebooks. You have to save somewhere. And yet the display is a clear step up from the one on my top end XPS from 4-5 years ago - which is just fine for work and casual media consumption.

There are various levels of "budget", putting one of the worse displays available is no good. Seeing "grey" movies is no good.

Yello

The key buying decision for me is:  Lenovo hasn't made any huge changes to their keyboards for years.

I have a Flex i5 and the keyboards is utter crap. It can only be used with an external keyboard. For my Flex i5 esc, 1 and a aren't working. The fingerprint sensor worked - for the first month or so. When testing, you need to consider the reliability. And do not use "done right" on any Lenovo product till they worked their issues out.

Well do I have news for you, they have since released a new SKU (82R70000US) in the US that is at sale at Costco with the i7-1255U and the same OLED 2880x1800 display that is in the 14" Yoga 9. It retails for $999, but can be found now for $799.99 excl shipping.

Do NOT buy this laptop!!!
To repair the screen cost $700 !!!
The laptop itself costs $850!

The screen repair is 80% of the Laptop Price - WTF!!!!!!

Lenovo is RIPING US OFF !
