Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro launches in Europe as increased 55 km range announced

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro has been launched in European countries, including the Netherlands, France and Spain. The company has also announced an OTA update, due for release in August, which will increase the e-scooter's range to 55 km (~34 miles). The foldable scooter has a 25 kph (~16 mph) top speed and fully charges in around nine hours.

The battery must obviously have a capacity allowing for 55+ range and the OTA update tweaks the controller to use "more of it" then before the update (e.g. by lowering the voltage threshold at with the thing turns itself off). My guess would be the initial software version was just taken straight from the previous model with smaller battery, now the update will make it "aware" of extra capacity.

...Seems inexplicably sloppy. I don't know the details but merely tuning the firmware to that extent sounds like less than 10min of work, the battery maker should also have something as default fallback, which is plug&play.
