GAC, whose Aion LX Plus was the first electric SUV to break the 620-mile range barrier, now has something in store for the more affordable standard range EV batteries with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology. Its new cells offer higher energy density, 2C charging rates, and better capacity retention in cold weather climates.

David Radzieta.

LFP will improve thongs for Tesla and most importantly consumers. It will stop the rapid degradation and permanent damage Tesla batteries have when charged to 100%   It will also prevent the weekly fires observed from Teslas using the outdated Panasonic and gigafactory cylindrical cells. A double win for consumers.

Some trolling here. There are no weekly fires, and over half of Tesla batteries are already LFP as said in the article.

2C charge rate is a downgrade. That is 120kw on a 60kwh pack. Tesla currently peak above 3C (180kw) on the LFP packs.

Also charging LFP batteries to 100% is bad for them. They are much happier being charged to 70 or 80% like lithium ion... But the GOM cannot get a semi accurate reading of battery state unless the battery is charged to 100% fairly frequently. Luckily LFP batteries have a longer life than lithium so most people won't notice the dedregation.

And here come the chinese electric vehicles. Buy them up folks, send china more of your money so they can continue building up their military to use against us.
To those who do, you are a traitor to your Country.
