Elon Musk has announced that Tesla plans to be mass-producing robotaxis by 2024. The self-driving vehicles are expected not to have steering wheels or pedals. The cars are being optimized for cost efficiency, with Musk claiming that a robotaxi ride would be cheaper than a subsidized bus or subway ticket.
