After the "Pepe the Frog" creator released 46 identical NFTs, an apparent case of buyer's remorse has now led to a US$500,000 lawsuit in which the winner of the original NFT auction accuses the creator and his organization of fraudulent inducement and unlawful business acts.

There is an miscoception on the base of the lawsuit. The NFT bought was indeed unique. An NFT is just a blockcain generated address pointer that tells you where you can find an image. The NFT buyer is not buying the image rights, just the pointer that points at the address of that image in a computer storage. That pointer is unique. It is weird, right, but if it is uniqueness wat you want, you can't complain if there are many pointers to a place where a picture is stored. I suppose that since the creator of the NFT, oh sorry, that is just an AI (no copyright rights then, those are only for humans), no the original owner of the NFT, promised to keep the value of the NFT by not releasing the others generated by the AI, and he did it, that is the root of the deception

this is like buying a print at an art store and then getting angry when the store restocks the shelves with identical prints except you dont get anything physical in this case. if theres no contract transferring commercial rights the creator can make and sell as many copies as they want.
