Dear manufacturers, users want better web cameras!

Asus advertises the quad-array microphone as one of the main features of the ExpertBook, which costs upwards of 2000 Euros (~$2400). It is supposed to improve the video-conferencing experience. At the same time, Asus uses the same 720p web camera as in almost all other current laptops such as the 3000-Euro (~$3600) MacBook Pro. When most people have to use their web camera everyday to study or work from home, this has to change!

Amen! Please write such articles occasionally addressed to laptop OEMs. Maybe Notebookcheck can have an impact, make a difference. I am tired of waiting for a good webcam. Finally got the Razer Kiyo Pro. If only it was integrated in a Razer laptop!

Would it absolutely kill you to get a proper camera? What the hell even is a "good WEBCAM"?.. :o

Seriously its simply beyond infuriating that this KEY tech component is so commonly given "barely functional" parts.

HP has actually started doing a movement towards better webcams. The Elite Dragonfly Max has a 5MP webcam (which is an improvement).

I think Lenovo and Dell are moving slowly to FHD cameras at least. Dell one time explained that slim bezels limits the size of the sensors they can put on there (they were talking about the XPS line).

Sure if you can give me $200, then it won't kill me to get a proper webcam.

Yeah, and they will add good cameras to laptops for free...

Missing the point again. If people pay $2300 for a laptop and still get an extremely shitty webcam, they will pay $2500 for a Kiyo Pro-class webcam that is integrated. Those who want webcams gone can simply cover it, most laptops already come with physical privacy covers for them.
