The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is now speculated to come with 12GB of GDDR6X VRAM and 10,240 CUDA cores. Its 320-bit memory interface will allow for 730Gb/s of memory bandwidth, identical to that of the GeForce RTX 3080.

It's obviously not 320 bit if it's 12 GB instead of 10 GB. It will be 384 bit memory bus.

I'm pretty sure this is false for a simple reason: AMD launched it's rx6000 cards with 16gb across the board (rx6800 and up).

It's really that simple, it doesn't matter if that memory will not have much use, it's a pretty number for marketing purposes. AMD pressured nvidia with the 6900xt trading blows with the 3090 for 500$ less, nvidia's response seems to be a 3080 jacked up so it matches the price and spec mismatch and continues to beat it downright in features (much better raytracing, dlss, etc..)

This sounds perfect for those that were worried about non-DLSS 4K with Ultra Nightmare textures. Honestly the original 3080 sounds like the ideal 1440p card. This might be a little overkill for the money.
