Cyberport has revealed the price of what will probably be the flagship SKU of the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15, and it is expensive. At €2,799, the ROG Zephyrus G15 features an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS APU, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q GPU a 165 Hz display with a native 1440p resolution. There is only one SO-DIMM slot though, with ASUS soldering 8 GB of RAM to the motherboard.

Jesus Christ, these prices are salty!

We need 16GB soldered RAM though...

Should've kept my £950 (€1000/$1200) Legion 5 (Ryzen 7 4800H, RTX 2060, 80Wh, 144Hz, RGB 16GB, 1TB), but then again, I can wait another year without gaming.

? specs were live on Asus' site yesterday: https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-zephyrus/2021-rog-zephyrus-g15-series/spec

Hopefully, the config. with 5600HS / 5800HS (or atleast the 5800U) with RTX 3060/ 3070, 1080p 144Hz & 90 Wh is around $1,500.
Can one of the authors from Notebookcheck comment on this ?

There will be a 5600HS version?
The 5900HS with a 3060 and the 1440p display costs 2299 € in Germany atm. I highly doubt there will be any 1500$ G15 anytime soon.

Dear ASUS... Love your latest series of laptops but would you please stop soldering in memory and have two nvme.slots?????
There's plenty of space on the G15.
And switch to 16:10 displays. There's plenty of space on the lid

I think for $ 1500, a GREAT combo for these Gaming+Professional laptop series could be - Ryzen 7 4800U—if and ONLY if it can sustain performance at 25W  for a long time (because its Geekbench scores are certainly better than 5600H, otherwise use a 5600H)—paired with a RTX 3060 mobile {better 3DMark scores than RTX 2070 mobile}.

Also, with that 90 Wh battery, battery life could be Mac M1 levels insane!

Sorry, for the CPU I was talking about the 5800U not 4800U

In the comments they write that you need 1080p.
I agree that everyone has different preferences, but I very much ask the same ASUS, do not bring this into the standard. Leave this low resolution for those with less than 100% vision.
If on such a diagonal 1080p, then this is a very small pixel density, which is very clearly visible to the naked eye and is not convenient.
4K or WQHD is a great option.

These prices make the Zephyrus Duo 15 SE price seem much more reasonable.  Same processor, but 32GB ram, 2 NVME slots, 2 300hz 1080p screens that together give the same real-estate as a 17in and a 3070 with MUCH better cooling for 3k.

Couldn't agree more with this, it's 2021 and we really need to move past 1080p displays. I have a 4K display on my 13" HP and it is pin sharp, QHD resolution is perfect for on a 15" laptop for gaming purposes.

So I propose to abandon FHD, or, at least, that there would always be options with WQHD and 4K.

I'm just talking about the fact that FHD on such a screen can be convenient only for people with not very good eyesight and this is their right to choose one for themselves.
