The new Pavilion 15z is down from $640 USD to just $480 USD while retaining high processor performance thanks to the 3rd gen AMD Ryzen 7 series.

My biggest complaint about HP laptops is that they also skimp somewhere with their base configurations. Either the network cards need upgrading, or you need to opt for a better screen or have to do some sort of upgrade. I had to with my Wife's Envy notebook because the standard screen was a dismal 300 nits and opted for the 400 nits. Should not even have to upgrade a screen on this model unless you want a 4K screen. MacBook Air's have 400 Nits standard. Of course the surprise here is AMD is kicking Intel in a market area once where Intel had total control. Just shows Intel has to up its game to survive.

Well, they are much cheaper in their base configs so that goes without saying. Though the pavilion line is budget all through, you can't even choose a better screen even if you wanted to.
