The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ in the new Redmi K30 Ultra has been put through a battery of tests alongside the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and the HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G chips. The Dimensity 1000+ proved to be an affordable processing champion by surpassing the Kirin 990 nearly every time and nipping at the heels of the SD 865 in most cases.

So Huawei would actually be upgrading if they switch from Kirin to DImensity? The only problem would be branding.

I'm rather wondering if MTK's selling this at a loss, certainly this sort of pricing will not last.

It seems that every third or fourth article from you is related to Mi or Redmi? Are they sponsoring notebookcheck though I do believe that they make value for money devices?

There is no need for rebranding. Huawei could simply license the Kirin code to mediatek and they could make a chip exclusively for Huawei.

And what "code" would that be? You think SoCs differ just by the firmware they use? Otherwise, what you're suggesting would be to have HiSilicon submit their design through MTK to TSMC, which I'm pretty sure would constitute fraud. Many heads will roll or the US would be morons to let that slide.

I would go for Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ chipset and this is something really good in the mid-range segment.
