AMD Ryzen 4000-based Dell G5 15 Special Edition gaming laptops available to buy - Ryzen 9 4900H model still MIA but a 120 Hz display option is coming in August

The new AMD Ryzen 4000-powered Dell G5 15 Special Edition gaming laptop can now be purchased from the OEM's online store. However, the 8-core, 16-thread Ryzen 9 4900H APU is still missing from the lineup. AMD executive Frank Azor has detailed how a 120 Hz display option will be coming in August for the Dell G5 15 SE.

Well, Dell did mention that their use of Zen 2 mobile and Navi laptop design is an 'experiment' to see how it goes before they decide making future all AMD products.

However, I have to say that despite this being an 'experiment' for Dell, one shouldn't really compromise on the design or gimp it in any way if you want it to succeed (then again, I'm sad to say that Dell has a poor history with making all AMD laptops).

The reviews of this unit thus far seem to show favor in regards to both performance and efficiency.

As for the hinges... its possible that Dell may have improved on that design (after all, the chassis is not exactly the same as in G3 since apparently the G5 15 5505 - Zen2/Navi - is by about 2 mm shorter in the middle of the bottom cover between the exhaust fans).

Dell is the best friend money can buy, they are one of Intel's most precious consumer OEM lol, don't expect a perfect AMD machine, especially from Dell

bang for the buck, if we look at the specs only. every hardware step worth the money.

but there will be many gamers out there who would love to try out the previously promoted AMD Ryzen 9 4900H SKU

media guys strikes again. the difference between r7 and r9 mobile is similar to the difference between desktop 3700x and 3800x. you should know it better than the average user. imagine many people are dreaming for paying 100-150 usd more for a hundred mhz higher boost.

Will the new model coming out in August cost more money than the base 60hz model. I've been hearing that if your going to get 60hz model you should just wait till August because the 120hz model will cost the same as the 60hz model. Is this true  ??? ????
