A UserBenchmark record featuring an "AMD Pulsar M200502" processor has recently been discovered, curiously as a part of a Dell G3 laptop. There was some speculation that this could possibly be a new Ryzen 4000 engineering sample going through preliminary testing, but the truth is much more prosaic. All the evidence points to an Intel chip in disguise.

Just another thing to add to the pile of UserBenchmark jokes. I don't know how on Earth you could mistakenly identify an Intel part as AMD without just giving zero damns lol

That is really, really weird. Especially as "pulsar" makes it seem like a GPU rather than CPU, after all star-related code names are AMD's modus operandi for GPUs while anything CPU or APU-related is famous painters (or Italian cities on the server side).


Still, as pointed out above this just serves as a further illustration of how useless a crowd-sourced benchmark comparison service that doesn't do quality control and filtering of its data actually is. Given repeated examples of how erroneous this stuff can be, combined with a completely opaque ratings and testing process, none of this can safely be assumed to be accurate and trustworthy. If someone you know has been lying to you or misrepresenting reality repeatedly, trusting what they say by default is a really stupid thing to do.
