New HP Envy x360 15 with AMD Ryzen 7 will undercut the Intel Core i7 SKU by about $150 USD

The Renoir-powered Envy x360 15 will start at $700 USD compared to $850 USD for the 10th gen Intel Ice Lake option. If the trend continues, then it will become easier to recommend the AMD option especially since the 7 nm Ryzen 4000U series has been so promising thus far.

I got excited for a second because of the 65Wh battery. But on the spec sheet for both Intel and AMD versions its only 51Wh.

Yeah, even the bigger brother HP Spectre has less than 65Wh.

Note also that the RAM is DDR4 and not the more energy efficient LPDDR4x as used in the Yoga Slim 7 having a 61Wh battery. Unfortunately no touchscreen on the Yoga Slim 7 despite it's name.

Looks interesting...  on paper but in reality HP almost always gives their AMD machines inferior screens to their Intel versions (that price difference isn't all processor).   Also I need access to nVidia graphics for rendering so need an mx gpu or thunderbolt3...  neither are options with the AMD so it would have to be back to intel land.

Of course the keyboard in my wifes pavilion x360 died a month out of warranty and the replacement requires a complete teardown if you can find the party anyway so I'm a little leery of HP these days.

But eager to see what the 4000 U series chips can do.

Fixed, thanks for the catch!

I wish they packed a fast responding IPS or OLED with UHD/4K. The dark body look so much better and so much more practical than white. Wish they did Intel in dark color as well.

HP Envy 2020 with Ryzen 7 will come with refreshed Vega 7 which performance is close to GTX 960M. It will also feature Thunderbolt 3 port!
