The Google Pixel 4 phones are set for launch next year and a set of leaks have revealed even more about the upcoming flagships, with a focus on some of the deficiencies the devices may come saddled with, as is customary with Google's flagships.

Instead of 4K60p recording from the rear camera, I would rather have 1080p60 on the selfie camera. Why doesn't any phone apart from iPhone have it?

People need to get their heads out of the sand over these high megapixel quad bayer sensors. They are newer and have more advertised megapixels, but even after the avalanche of phones with them, none have topped the iphone, pixel, and galaxy phones that use older sensors. Sony makes the higher end 48mp one. Yet they don't even have it in their own flagships. Samsung makes the lower end 48mp one, and even they don't use it in their own flagships. Do you think the manufacturers of the sensors themselves would purposefully put themselves at a market disadvantage? Neither companies sell them at a high price, because they are budget sensors to begin with. The only phones that use them are dull midrange phones and your typical Chinese flsgship that gets pooped out literally every month. The quad-bayer design with simultaneous exposures makes for easy HDR and easy prepackaged processing that require no R&D or powerful/proprietary software and hardware. But these are still shitty quad bayer pixels, extremely small and severely lacking in color information because of the four pixels one color design.

Either with the old sensor or a quad battery sensor, the pixel 4 seems to be yet another disappointment in the camera department.

Is the phone expected to launch next year or next month? This article seems to indicate both next year and next month.
