Chuwi's 14-inch laptop scores well for its sleek metal design, its silent operation, good battery life, its IPS display with stable viewing angles and a wide colour gamut. Added to that are keyboard backlighting and the option to expand the device with an M.2 SSD, both of which are welcome.

Bought myself one, installed kubuntu on it for the sweet pixel perfect scaling and drivers support:
1. Had no problems connecting external hdd, can play 4k24fps blueray rips through it.
2. The processor runs at 2.1 ghz almost all of the time, but the upper side of case becomes unbereably hot under super heavy load. Still was able to play dota underlords game fine, just dont expect that you would be able to comfortably put it on your belly unless you want to peel of your skin together with laptop
3. The screen is definetely something you haven't seen before for the price. Also got my unit on a sale for 280 usd - perfect machine for that price.
4. The glossy screen definetely is a minus under sun. The screen lid also feels like it can snap if you will open it from side(the hinges are weak)
5. Bluetooth mouses and keyboards connects just fine with kubuntu, the laptop keyboard is VERY nice tho

Overall a super solid buy. I use it primarly as texting/mailing/office kinda thing, sometimes indie gaming and films consumption.
Do not use any other linux distros besides kubuntu. Manjaro has a broken network driver, Ubuntu lags because of gnome, mint with xfce cannot scale icons and text well, and the kubuntu is surprisingly lightweigt (~800 MB ram usage idle) and responsive. Also you would not want to go to the window scaling rabbit hole.

Also weird: the laptop van only be charged using the supplied usb-c charger. Any other usb-c charger won't work :(
