Mirror, mirror... HP's Envy m6-1101sg is a multimedia laptop equipped with Windows 8 for EUR 800. An eye-catcher is certainly the keyboard's backlight. However, the screen has major problems with sunlight.

This computer has the worst keyboard ever!  The keys have to be struck quite hard and even then this thing skips characters.  Wish I had never bought it!

4.5 stars
the keyboard design leaves plenty of room and support for my heavy meat hooks
the backlight and 10 key rate 5 star and its a - .5 star for the mouse pad which i still cant figure out as the windows 8 keeps screaming back to start because i have obviously touched something to make it do so that and it locked up on me once as described in the art ice had to reboot it  :-\

I love this computer I run only FL Studio and audials-tunebite on it and don't have the slightest lag/ghosting/keyproblems or power problems the computer screen grabs glare from any light rather easily but moving the angle slightly isn't a problem the brightness can be adjusted more than sufficiently wont place anything on this computer besides my music prgrams but for dj-ing/mixing and for running fl studio full blast this computer is amazing

I've had nothing but trouble with this laptop since the day I purchased it. I do not care for windows8. It freezes for no reason. My backlight on my computer screen just went out costing $200 to replace. The laptop is only 1 1/2 years old. Won't be buying another Hp.

I want to find the author of this article and bitch slap him multiple times for leaving such a wonderful review of one of the worst laptops around. If you open and close it enough times the flimsy plastic holding the screen in place begins to come apart. My grandmas shitty 10 year old dell laptop doesnt even have this issue. I cant stress enough how idiotic a problem this is, it's like a flip phone breaking because you flipped it too much. Not to mention the trashcan battery and a graphics card that cant be trusted to run anything more intensive than facebook. I'm just proud that I had nothing to do with picking out this computer. I think the worst part of all of this is knowing how easily all the problems im here bitching about couldve been avoided if the evident penny pinchers at HP didnt cut every corner imaginable, it actually couldve been a pretty decent product. Oh and of course the problems didnt show up until right after the warranty expired. Owning this computer feels like playing basketball and getting slam dunked on while your opponents sweaty nuts are dragged across your face.... Everyday. *Drops the mic*

This laptop was the worst laptop I have ever owned! Last night I was finishing an assignment for my university class. I was almost done when it overheated and shut down. I turned it back on and all of my work was lost. I know it was my fault for not saving anything, but I was not forgiving this time, since it has happened several times before. Another issue with this computer is the sound quality. It says it has "Beats Audio" but the speakers crackle and do not sound good at all at high volume. HP are great computers and they have very helpful service over the phone, but the Envy m6 was very cheaply made. I would suggest getting the next step up, your $100 extra will be worth your while.

If you had it new and expected about a year of reliability followed by rickety performance until complete death you had your money's worth.

Creaks like an old barn, you can literally see the keyboard flex under your fingers, the wifi doesn't work half the time, tried a hundred drivers, wiped the computer back to factory, same crap. overheats on a flat hard surface watching youtube videos, it came with windows 8 which is a problem in itself, every week a new completely random problem comes up. This week the wifi works, but you have to flush dns every 5 minutes, no other device in the house has this issue. I have to carry a 20 feet ethernet cable everywhere because there is zero reliability on the wifi functionalities.

I'm posting this because I bought a new computer to get rid of this one but I will sawzall it in half instead of selling it to someone else.

If you wonder why the envy product line has been popping up like crazy on the use market, make no mistake, it's because it is a terrible product.
