The market for premium laptops has been growing in recent years, with thin and powerful 15-inch laptops like the Dell XPS 15 or Apple MacBook Pro 15 as one of the growth-segments. Reason enough for HP to release the new EliteBook 1050 G1, which offers a hexa-core CPU and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 in a thin 15-inch chassis.

Even premium gaming 15" notebooks can't handle i7-8750H 3x3900Hz turbo boost. This tiny gadget will blow up at 3k.

Why in god's name do they keep placing the fan exhausts and main ports on the right side where my right mouse/hand is?

Do they not understand that there are many users who do not use an external keyboard with these type of laptops?

@27646283,
This model has a dual-fan design, which is necessary to cool these components in a chassis this thin: http://www.www8-hp.com/us/en/images/i_01_hero_slide_1_tcm245_2619912_tcm245_2619910_tcm245-2619912.png

So it has exhausts on both sides, its just a necessity. Maybe they could put the exhaust at the back of the machine, but with the common drop-down-hinge design, the airflow probably would be a problem.

Geez, 4.54 lb. and it isn't even a 2-in-1. Even the Spectre x360 is around that weight. HP missing the point. Lighter is more premium, but of course, Apple's making porky laptops, so HP has to copy.

Wonder how this will handle ~100W of cooling demands seeing as the similar Elitebook 1040 couldn't even handle an H-class CPU by itself
