I just got my MSI GT70 with this NVIDIA GTX 680M card, but there are several issues:
- In Windows Experience Index, only the Intel Video is recognized, NO SIGN of the dedicated card as before in all models! MSI said this is NORMAL and no video card will be shown. This, of course, brings down the Experience Index as well, significantly!!!
- I've run SEVERAL benchmark tests in 3D Mark Vantage, but barely got over the 20,000 mark!
- In the "Heaven" benchmark, again, only the Intel video showed up, no sign anywhere of the dedicated high-end NVIDIA card. Before you ask, YES, I've confirmed it that it is in the unit installed, but the program wouldn't see it.
- Other CPU and GPU programs, yet again, only the Intel chipset shows up.
- There was one program (I already removed it and can't recall the name), the NVIDIA was listed, but no memory bank or capacity was recognized.
- MSI told me that there is NO WAY of activating the 680M card to be the main, prime and only video card in the system. Then what the heck is it around for anyways?
- The Intel chipset indicates only 64MB of dedicated video! GREAT!!! I've got a laptop with a great video card, but I can't use or activate it for video playback or multi-display situations.
In summary, I'm looking for a way to ACTIVATE this video card to be the primary display provider instead of the Intel chipset. If anyone has ideas how to do that, please post a reply. Thanks!
