AMD hat auf der Entwicklermesse AFDS 2012 die Gründung der Heterogeneous System Architecture (HSA) Foundation angekündigt. Weitere Gründungsmitglieder sind ARM, Imagination Technologies, Mediatek und Texas Instruments (TI). Ziel ist eine einheitliche CPU-GPU-Architektur.
