Asus has updated its gaming flagship Strix SCAR 18 with the Core Ultra 9 275HX, GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop and an outstanding mini LED display at 240 Hz. In addition, access to the device's components has been made much easier and there are plenty of lighting elements.

Are you sure that the laptop does not have PCIe 5.0 support? The manufacturer's description says: "SSD slots both offering full support for PCIe Gen 5". So is it true or not?

A big surprise is that the screen is worse than last year's, especially surprising is the lower brightness and lack of "true black" in SDR (maybe firmware or software errors?).

Oof. Let's hope the smaller screen with the same battery on the 16 inch version improves the battery life. I'd really like to get the 16 inch version of this for the screen, assuming it remains solid in Performance, but I'd really like to see at least slightly better battery life. Guess we're waiting for the XMG and the zephyrus tests for now.

I'd go for the zephyrus or the blade in a heartbeat if they had a numpad...

I hope they'll make Zephyrus 18. Until then - Blade 18 is my choice, too bad that it doesn't have 2k miniLED this year.

Hello,
I have pre ordered this exact model and hopefully receive it in a few weeks

Please can someone give me some advice regarding the 2tb ssd configuration in Rad 0
I wanted to add a 2nd ssd (Crucial T500 2TB) I wasn't aware that this model had 2x 1tb ssds as a posed to one 2tb,Hence i wanted to and Crucial T500 2TB socould active 4tb of storage.
Anyway.....

Will it still be possible to add a 2nd ssd with out losing the internal storage the laptop comes with?
Do the ssds have to be the same brand and size with configured in RAD 0
Will I need to start messing around with bios settings to get this working.

Basically I just want to add the new 2tb ssd to to create 3tb of storage and sell one of the ssds that come with thus model.

Apologies as I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this.
Appreciate you time
Regards
Simon.
