Tesla China suspends orders for US-made Model S and Model X amid escalating tariff war

Tesla China has stopped accepting orders for the Model S and Model X. Both models are shipped to China from the US, and China could already be affected by the escalating tariff war between the two economic powerhouses.

"goods from the US are subject to 84 percent import duties"

1) I think 84% is outdated and it is higher now. The latest US tariff on China I have heard was 154% so that would suggest 134% China tariff on the USA plus see below.

2) Isn't there an additional 20% that was in place previously? Currently, China raises tariffs to values 20% below US tariffs on China for this reason so that effectively both countries charge the same tariffs on each other.

Yeah, be careful. NBC (well, some writers) like censoring G-rated unfavorable comments about China (like that would change the WORLD's views/opinions)! 😏
