Lenovo's Legion Go S Powered by SteamOS won't be available until May 2025. While that may be a long wait for those who want an official SteamOS device not manufactured by Valve, they won't have a choice as Valve says there are no other partners at the moment.

Least ANYONE forgets that 'Powered by SteamOS' represents a LIMITING factor for their product(s).

Not all games run as well on SteamOS as they might natively on other operating systems (or AT ALL!!) and not all Game Stores are available for SteamOS.

Fortunately, none of that is true.  Hi, I'm the lead of SteamFork, a SteamOS based Linux distribution for handhelds like this one.  I have more than 500 games in my catalog between Steam, GoG, Epic, and Amazon and there are very few that don't work - none of the games that I play regularly.  There may be slight compatibility issues here and there, but the *only* major issue that you'll run into are with particular games with anti-cheat that is not enabled or not available in Linux.  That's amounts to a minuscule number of games comparatively speaking

You can install games from Epic, Gog, and Amazon just fine using a tool called Heroic and they integrate into the main SteamOS interface just like all of your other Steam games do.  Installing Heroic is incredibly easy in SteamOS, you switch to Desktop mode, open Discover, find and install Heroic, launch it, log into the game stores, and start installing games.  It's very simple.
