They pushed people towards making phones thinner which no one asked for. The result is you get shorter battery life, and with smaller container poorer heat management so shorter lifespan as well. Add in sealed batteries that are expensive to replace, and you push people towards spending 1 grand every 2 years for a phone that is only 0.1% better in real life from your last one.
