If the usual representatives of the genre are too "casual" for you, take a look at the latest MMORPG on Steam. There are no quest markers and no maps here, but there is social interaction and a proper grind.

From what little I read I can tell this to mainly be a click-bait article.

Druid isn't out yet. Several other points in this are misleading.

Look the game up yourself.

Lol cause we can't have any consequences 🤪

World of Warcraft is not an old school MMO, its a theme park MMO and nothing like EverQuest but then I'm sure I have hair that's older than the writer of this article so I don't blame them for not knowing the difference.

To bad Pantheon is pretty bad. Horrible performance and doesn't nothing new and what it does do it doesn't even do well.

It's actually a very engaging game, good community. Very early access. Expect character wipes.
If you don't like jank, just wait for it to come out of EA.

This game is exactly what it is billed as. If you are a fan of EverQuest, Vanguard or any other early MMO this game truly does deliver even in early access. The articles complaints about high system spec requirements are kind of garbage considering the fact that I built my rig about 6 years ago in anticipation of this game expecting it to come out sooner and my system isn't even close to meeting the requirements and I'm playing it just fine.

Get in and check it out but give it some time because I would have to say that your character doesn't really hit its stride until about level 10. It'll take you a little time to get there unless you're in the right groups but based on server population there's more than enough people to find groups with.

Hot take people only think old school mmos were harder is because they were quite literally dumber at the time. People thought vanilla wow was harder than modern till they re released it and everyone had the majoroty of content cleared within a week.
