This entire class of products mess me up. I mean I love the concept - especially with colour eInk and a stylus - it's the closest you can get to paper and pencil in an electronic device and has the advantage of a literal always-on screen (even if the power is gone).
And the essentially infinite standby time (ok ok.. weeks then) means it's also like paper in that most of the time it's pick up and go.
BUT... it's also really expensive and most of them are so heavily targetted to two tasks: eBooks and note taking, that these end up being very limited use devices (with a few exceptions that support full Android).
Meanwhile, I can get a Samsung S9 FE+ for CA $750 (often less) and have a 12.4" screen device that can do pretty much everything one of these eReaders can... and more... weighs about the same and actually has ok standby time (not as good as an eReader, but still not bad - 5-7 days).
Definitely a niche product but still cool. I have a small Kobo mainly to display bar coded stuff so scanners can read it better, but I rarely use it for reading books.
