Apple's latest iPad Pro tablets contain various advantages over the competition, despite their 5 mm housings. Unfortunately, the presence of tandem OLED displays and powerful Apple M4 chipsets has not helped improved sales, according to an analyst familiar with the matter.

Ok, sure - I'll bite...

Disclaimer: I own a number(4) of Apple iPads: G2-Mini, G5-Mini & G1-8.6-Pro, G3-11-Pro (M1).

I'd wager that besides pricing themselves out of the market for their offerings Apple's largest competition is from their EXISTING products - IE: there is no "must have" or "killer application" that is non-existent on the older models or have night/day performance differences on the new ones enticing existing customers to upgrade.

My personal use of the "pro" iPads is that the addition of a keyboard (and track pad in the case of the 11" iPad) make AWESOME small&light "laptops" (3 of my iPads have Cell phone radios).

In other articles I see that Apple has suffered more then others with reduced sales of their products of late. (laptops & cell phones)

I guess that there actually DOES come a time when a "Apple" product simply costs to much.

You pay $1k+ and if you want a keyboard that's another $300. After paying a premium you add them together and it's a 1.3kg "light" computer.

Pay more, heavy and it's still the useless iPadOS.

What's the advantage? Battery life maybe, but nobody is going to prize 20hr+ on screen time when a lighter Laptop/hybrid is similar and can just be charged with USB C anyway. The case is niche at best.

And the tandem OLED screen? Again what's the point, you can't even access HDR functions unless an app is specifically built to show it.

It's a device made for nobody.

Apple are smoking crack with these prices. In Australia top spec 13" iPad Pro with 2TB costs $4300 and that's without a pencil or keyboard. You are looking at nearly $5K for a complete kit. Absolute criminal insanity and for the privilege you get a trash tier OS, no usb ports, no mouse support, no file manager.

You would have to be insane not to get an ultra-thin laptop 2-in-1 with a real OS for far less money.

Well what do they expect.? This does nothing really different or better than my 2019 iPad Pro or an iPad Air with pencil support and it costs an arm and a leg if you want a decent amount of storage and a couple of pencils.

I love my iPad Pro, but with pencil support on the iPad Air there's no way that when my iPad Pro dies I'm replacing it with another iPad Pro.

Yeah it's really powerful but you can hardly use all that power on iPad OS anyway.

Only way we upgraded to the Pro M4 was 11" with trade-in of our previous Pro and 'sale' with $100USD discount.  Otherwise, it was an Air for 'good enough' specs.
